Preparing for departure to the Bahamas

Getting ready to cross the Gulf Stream tomorrow God willing and the weather cooperates as planned. We leave at 0400am because it will take us probably about 10 hours to get there. We have attempted to make the adjustment to our course counting in the 2 knot current of the Gulf stream.  We are going to West End and staying at the Old Bahamas Marina.  Today is wash day and grocery shopping again to top off the boat before we leave.  Water tank was filled up the other day as well as the diesel for the boat and gas for the generator, which by the way is now working without complications. I have also been working on organizing my photos and deleting ones I don't want to keep, in order to keep the ones on the Ipad to a working minimum, I need to upload the other million to my Picasa Web or icloud.  Anyway the internet is working but slowly.  We are right now sitting in the cruiser's lounge wiith other cruisers hooked up to the internet working, playing or looking for people to repair our boats.  There is this guy here that has a 36ft sailboat that was hit by ther storm the other day and had it's gib sail ripped up and is now stuck, so he needs a rigging guy to come over and climb up the mast to fix that.  He also had his main sail cover torn by the wind and his dinghy punctured, so he obviously can not go anywhere until everything gets fixed. He did have 2 crew members that are now gone due to the boat being unable to travel until the repairs are fixed. He needs new crew, so we are keeping an eye open for new crew for him.  One thing I can say is that when you are cruising people seem to help you a lot, in fact everyone is in the same situation and needing something so we help each other as we go.  Right now Brad is helping another cruiser with his Go Pro Camera.  Some people have helped us as well, recently this repair guy fixed told us how to fix our Balmar system and did not even charge us anything, it was amazing.  It seems that when you just mention a problem people start thinking of solutions for you.  So are people innately good or what? Well someone just helped me spell the word innately so I am guessing good. I think sometimes what makes people bad are situations like poverty, hunger etc. Anyway enough philosophy for the day. I am going back to playing my new favorite game Churchill Solitare, I admit it I am hooked on this game, I play it every chance I get, I don't always win but I guess that is why it is so challenging for me.  Talk to you again later.
