Crossing Whale Cay

Weather window ok to pass Whale Cay
Whale Cay Passage can be close down due to what they call the “shelf effect”.  In high seas or northeasters swells can produce dangerously rough conditions as the water piles up on the shoals.  These “rages” can be powerful, turbulent and lethal seas. We waited for 2 days for clear weather to do the crossing and it was ok a little bouncing but doable. So we made it safe and sound to Baker’s Cay.  Anchored in beautiful waters, went shelling on Spoil Cay and Snorkeling.  Bakers Bay Club and Marina is a private club, so we stayed on the boat.  Tomorrow we are going to Fisher bay on Great Guana Cay.
