Arrived at Green Turtle Bay

Sailed from Great Sale Cay to Green Turtle Cay
The waters are beautiful greenish blue and clear as can be, you can see the bottom at around 20 ft. Stayed last night in Great Sale Bay which was calm and relaxing, we were 1 of 3 boats total in the anchorage so we had plenty of room.  Today we sailed over to Green Turtle with good winds in the right direction.  In fact at one point our boat speed  hit 8 knots with a reefed main and gib, the winds were as high as 28.8 with gust.  We arrived about 4pm as predicted and docked our boat at the Black Sound Marina, the people here were very welcoming and helpful with the handling and docking of the boat.  We are tucked in here for the next few days due to a storm coming through tomorrow night.  Tomorrow we plan to go for a bike ride around town, should be nice.  We walked a bit tonight and it is a cute little village with colorful houses. We got a new conch shell that I plan to clean up and keep on the boat.  We also had conch salad which was quite tasty.

So after six weeks of boat repairs and weather delays were have finally arrived at our Cruising destination here in the Bahama Islands.  Paradise and fun in the sun is what is next for us. We will be staying in this general area for the next couple of months, awaiting visit from our family.
