Weather in Paradise
The weather in paradise has been beautiful, sunny skies, calm waters, yes now that is what I am talking about. We have had several great snorkel trips on Sandy Cay Coral Garden and that is basically what is was, a gorgeous coral garden with lots of fish. There were probably 200+ Blue Tang Fish roaming the area. After snorkeling yesterday we came over to Snake Cay to explore the inner lake area, which was interesting. We took the dinghy on an hour trip through the islets and saw several turtles. The turtles here are fast, as soon as we see them they are moving, zip down the road. We have probably seen over 20 turtles since we have been in the Bahamas. Dolphins are not around as much, nor our birds. Rays are also swimming around quite a bit. Today we are going over to Tilloo Bank and pond areas and it is suppose to be a shallow areas where we might see more turtles, rays, starfish and sand dollars. I have already collected a million shells, queen conch, starfish and sand dollars but I figure you can not get too many. If I find great ones then I trade out my not so great ones and back in the ocean they go, after of course my guest go through them an pick there favorites to take home with them. I am going to start painting scenes on some of the large white shells. I also got some nice coral pieces on the shore and fans. Nothing alive, if something is living in the shell, it goes back in the ocean, that is a rule for me. I do not evict anyone from their apartment if I can help it. Living on the boat in harmony with nature, self sufficient with energy conservation is what we want to do on the boat. Next year we will probably get solar panels to help us be even more able to live out in the middle of nowhere depending on no one to keep us going. After that we will get a water maker so that by the time we get to areas that have questionable water we will be able to use the ocean water to purify our drinking water. After the water maker we will want to get a Spinniker or Aso (large sail) to enable us to travel distances quicker using the wind more efficiently. But all of these upgrades cost money so we will be getting one at a time as we can afford. As long as we don't have a lot of repairs next year, we should be ok. As they say, we should have smooth sailing and following seas.
