Crossing and Island Hopping
We leave Hopetown with fond memories of our stay in this cute little island town, so far one of our favorites. First stop Tahiti Beach, white sand and shallow waters, beautiful. We stayed one night in Tahiti and then moved on down the island chain. The next day we crossed the Sea of Abaco which was a bit on the rough side, 4-6ft waves at times. We tried to stop at Sandy Cay to snorkel but it was too wavy even on the leeward side of the island. So we bounced to the next big anchorage to stay the night. Today we are on our way to Little Harbour to join our new found friends at Pete’s Pub. This island is an Artist Colony so it should be interesting to see.
We also found Barney our old dog while we were out and about yesterday. Attached are some photos from the trip down the Sea of Abaco. The weather here seems to be getting warmer and less stormy so hopefully we have enter a new era of only good weather and not storms once a week. Our guest will be starting to arrive next week, with Hannah first, then my sister and Dino, Stacy and the boys and Cam. By the time we are done entertaining it will be time to start heading back to Marsh Harbour to put the boat away for the season. The Bahamas have been great, in fact we did not have any fun until we hit the Bahamas for a variety of reasons: boat repairs, bad weather, etc. I love the Bahamas and could see us coming back here year after year. But Brad still yearns for the Caribbean so we will see how far we will get each year and re-evaluate where we want to go the next season.
