Voyage from Man O War to Green Turtle

Today's crossing of the Whale went well. 2-4ft swells with an occasional 6ft slow roll. For those of you not familiar with the Whale crossing, it is an area in the Abacos that the Atlantic Ocean meets the Sea of Abacos without the benefit of the reefing decreasing the impact of the waves.  The waters mix from all different directions causing the Whale to be a bit of a challenge to go through.  You must pick a good weather window to do your crossing, similar to doing the Gulf Crossing or you may be in big trouble. Anyway, we made it ok today and are now tucked into Black Sounds at Donny's Marina. Donny's is not the nicest in town but right now, it is the cheapest at 75 cents a foot. So far we have had some good deals here in the Bahamas, 75 cent a ft at Mangoes Marina and 50 cent a ft at Orchid Bay Marina. Plus some good moorings for 15-20 dollars a day. And of course the free anchoring that has been found as well. Tonight we did Stand up paddling around the bay and tomorrow we may even try to go over to White Sounds on our boards, there may even be a kiting adventure for Brad tomorrow. We shall see, C'est la Vie or Sail la Vie.
