Crossing to Eleuthra

Tomorrow we are doing the crossing to Eleuthra.  We are leaving from Little Harbour at 26 degrees 19.30N, 76 degrees 59.32W travelling 49.2nm on a course of 179 degrees to the waypoint of 25 degrees 29.60N, 76 degrees 54.75, 1 1/2nm west of the cut between Egg island and Little Egg Island to Royal Island anchorage. Are you impressed?  Yes, I am learning navigation this season.  Earlier today Brad taught me how to put in wavepoints in the Charter Plotter.  And tomorrow I will be the helmsman for at least half the trip. I figured it was about time for me to learn the hard stuff, just in case I need to get us back to where we want to be.  Captain Brad will be teaching me everything I need to know to navigate the Bahamas and beyond. The trip should take us about 8 hours, so we should be arriving around 3-4pm depending on what time we get going.  Brad's friend Ed will be joining us on Monday for a short 4 day trip around the island.  This is our itinerary, weather dependent of course:

Pick up Ed at Spanish Wells
Anchor at Meeks Island or Royal
Current Cut to Glass window possible day stop
Gregory Town anchorage
Hatchet Bay's
Possibly:
Governor Harbor

If the weather is poor, we may stay in Spanish Wells the first day or so and go over to Harbour Island on the ferry.  That is where the pink sands are on Eleuthra. Gotta have backup plans in case of weather.

After Ed leaves, we will be making our way over to the Exumas.  We need to be in Georgetown by the end of March to pick up Hannah.  Depending on how long it takes us to get there, we will plan to stay a few days in the park before she comes to visit. Not sure of our itinerary for Hannah yet, want to check out a few places before we decide what places would be best for Hannah to see.  When Hannah's vacation is done, we will probably go over to Long Island or maybe Cat or go back to some of our favorite places in the Exuma's.  Exciting, right!  Around May 1st we are going to be heading back to Stuart to get solar and a portable water maker and then next season we will be completely self reliant other than God of course. All plans are made in the sand at low tide...
