We have met some great people here in Hope Town: Mark & Joelle on Daruma 41 ft Lagoon, Pickel ball fans. Jim and Cheryl on Amazing Grace another Cat with a great solar set up and good info for Brad. John & Terry on Primera Vista a 43ft Benateau from Nova Scotia, Canada. Cheryl and Lee on their beautiful yacht. The first day here in town we went to bingo at Captain Jacks per invitation from Mark & Joelle and had a lot of fun. Then from there we were invited to play dominos on Cheryl & Lee's boat, followed by a Crusier's Party at the Hope Town poolside, great food and music. Next we were invited to play Pickel ball, it is similar to tennis and ping pong, but I was too sick to do that. A week ago I drank a bit of seawater and got some in my lungs, so I have been dealing with a walking pneumonia type situation. Of course I did not start antibiotic right away, as per every MD, do I of course got worse as I went along, until finally I diagnosed myself and treated my self with an appropriate antibiotic. I am much better now, still have a deep voice though. Anyway, it was a bit scary, how you can get so sick so fast with ingesting sea water in your lungs. No worries now, I am going to live another day, of course, we have more parties to go to. Last night we went on a Dinghy drift party where we all tied up in the shape of a flower and started at the mouth of the harbor and just drifted around the harbor eating cheese and crackers, etc. and other snacks.
Today we went to church at the Methodist Church in Hope Town and it was great, so many children were involved in the service. It is a great way to mingle with the locals by going to church and seeing everyone there. This church sits on the hill facing the most beautiful beach in Hope Town, it was gorgeous. This afternoon we went to another music party at the main pool at Hope Town Inn. Playing music and singing all day, it was great even though no one could here me because of my voice problem, I still had fun.
Upon returning from the party I started one of my paintings for the Hummingbird Art Studio competition. I did it last year and it was fun, so why not. Anyway, the first painting is going to be an underway scene, duh!
Here are some photos from our adventures:
