Manjack Cay

Feb 2nd, 2017
Another day in Manjack Cay and uninhabited island in the Abacos.  We are planning to stay in the Abacos for a couple more weeks, we met a couple that was headed back to the States to get some boat parts etc.  so we asked them to pick up a few items for us as well.  So we have ordered a larger anchor and a stronger battery charger, which both should make our lives easier in so many ways. We will sleep sounder with a heavier anchor, especially in a storm.  And the charger should help us keep everything charged up better. So what that all means is that we are basically suck here in the area until they return with our stuff.  Which is probably a good thing anyway, since the weather is not all that great right now.  Well we should say some days are good and sunny and then others are rainy and overcast.  Yesterday we went snorkeling and it was great.  I was a bit nervous at first but got used to it rather quickly.  We saw a Man O Ray bigger than our dinghy, wow!  A baby nurse shark was attached to it.  I have a few pics but let me tell you, it will not do it justice, it was huge!  We also saw a stingray swimming and a lot of dark blue angel fish.  Then we went Standup Paddling around the Cay and saw turtles and more rays.

Today we stayed on the boat and did some housecleaning since it was overcast most of the day.  Then we went for a hike to the other side of the island.  It rained on our way back but we had brought raincoats so we were ok with it.  Dinner tonight consisted of black peppered steak with mashed potatoes and corn, not bad for living on the boat.  Last night was lobster, we are really roughing it around here. Here are a few photos from our snorkeling trip yesterday and sunset session.
