Crossing to Bimini from Chub Cay

Today we did a 10 hour crossing to Bimini with 2-4 ft waves with occasional 6 ft. We motored sailed doing 7-8nm per hour. We had to sail on the lee , so we ended up tacking every hour or so. Our new friends all left the same time we did so we buddy boated with them most of the way. The Great Catsby is docked right in front of us on Weech's Dock. They are a bit rundown but ok for one night. We are now having dinner at Big John's Fish house, I am going to have deep fried lobster with Bahamian bread, no fat of course.
Since we were expecting another storm, we decided to move our boat to a nicer marina over on South Bimini.  Our new friends Cynthia and Jim from (The Great Catsby) came with us.  They were our buddy boat friends during our stay in Bimini.  Bimini Sands was a very nice place to stay and even better calm inside the anchorage.  The only problem was the bugs, when the wind died down the bugs come out.  The property itself was nice kept up.  They had a horizon pool which was great to swim in on the hot afternoons.  One day we stayed instead due to rain and then one day we explored North Bimini, Alice Town.  This place reminded me of Mexico a bit run down.  Basically it is a fishing island made for big game fishing.  We went to the Big Game Marina and had a great lunch and then walked to the end of the island to the Hilton Hotel.  This was the first US hotel we found in the Bahamas and it was very nice.  Here are some photos from our time in Bimini:
