Rio Diabolo

So, it has been one month since we started and we have had our up's and down's with our adventure. Today I am frustrated because the boat has problems and we keep putting on bandaids, but what can you do out here in the middle of nowhere. In the next couple of days we will be heading back to Shelter Bay to make some repairs; buy a new battery and have the generator checked out. Fixing boats in exotic places is definitely what we are doing here. Anyway, David, Brad and I had some heavy conversations this morning and I believe have a plan of action, hopefully. Brad is now out kiting and I am cleaning the boat, which is what I do when I am stressed.  I realized this morning that "Paradise" is where your mind is not your body.  So now that I am done cleaning, I think I will go back to paradise, first I am jumping in for a swim and then maybe going to take some photos of Brad kiting, if I can get close enough.
Yesterday was a different kind of an adventure: we were in the River district: Rio Diabolo.  We hired a guide Fernando and he was great, he told us many stories about the Kuna people and about people he met giving guides along the river.  We experienced what it was like floating down the river in the old days.  The Kuna people here still get their water from the river; many boats came up the river to get clean water.  They do have a water pipe from the mountains but it has been broken for 4 months, so they come up the river to the cleanest water with large buckets 5-6 in each canoe.  We also went on a long hike in the rainforest.  We did not see any big animals but lots of leaf carrying ants, butterfly's and birds like the Egret and Blue Heron.  Got some great pictures. Although the river is interesting, I wanted to go back to the islands where the water is clean and refreshing, I much prefer swimming in blue water rather then cloudy green water from the river.  No crocodiles sightings  in the river thank God. Well I believe it is now time to go back to Paradise on Green Island.  See ya later No Alligator or Crocodile!
