Fort San Lorenzo

Well, we have hopefully finally figured out the problems of the boat.  As it turns out the batteries all needed to be replaced: 6 very costly batteries are being installed as we speak. David is working hard to get the boat ready to sail again. However, now we have told the ACS boats: No Regrets and Om that we would be available to assist them with the Canal Crossing to the Atlantic.  So we are scheduled to leave on Monday afternoon for the locks and then return on Wed.  It should be an interesting experience; going thru the Panama Canal.  I plan to take photos and video of the crossing. Since we have been back into Shelter Bay we have not be doing too much, mainly trying to be online to update the blog.  We also call all of our girls on Facetime which was great.  Yesterday we went to re-provision which was another $500 worth of groceries, so we are ready to go to Bocas Del Toro.  This morning we went to Fort San Lorenzo to go exploring and possibly hiking in the rainforest.  The only hiking we ended up doing was around the fort.  There were no real trails thru the rainforest, we could see what we could see in the forest by driving down the road.  We did see a Monkey today in the trees at the Fort but that was about it.  Maybe we will try again another time to see if we can find more animals.Panama Canal
